My Practice and Philosophy

I have a holistic approach and integrate acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine with a proper diet, good nutrition, exercise and qi gong (self healing exercises) in order to maximize a person’s health.
Your health and happiness is my goal.

Meg McDowell graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine receiving a Masters in Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She is licensed in the state of California. Meg is also a graduate of the Yangsheng Center for Qi Gong and is a certified Qi Gong Teacher. Meg teaches Qi Gong and practices Chinese Medicine in Kensington.

Meg has apprenticed in lay midwifery with Peggy Vincent and is a certified doula. Meg has also done training with Dr. Zhu in scalp acupuncture, Susan Johnson in Master Tung’s point system, Dr. Nambudripad in the NAET system, and presently with Dr. Robert Zeiger in herbology. Meg volunteers at the Charlotte Maxwell Center where she treats women with cancer using TCM.

Traveling to Mongolia in 2013 with Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB), Meg taught practitioners at the local traditional medicine school and the psychiatric hospital on how to treat patients with alcoholism. Meg will continue to work this year with AWB in instruction to practitioners on how to treat people who have suffered from trauma.

As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I treat any age-from babies to elders. Though I specialize in women’s health, neurological disorders and pain, I treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
